Step 1: Prepare Your Wall & Paste
Wall preparation:
- Clean your wall thoroughly and let it dry
- Fill any holes or cracks with spackle
- Sand smooth if needed
- Apply primer or sizing if recommended (helps with adhesion and future removal)
Prepare the paste:
- Mix wallpaper paste according to package instructions
- Let it sit for the recommended time (usually 5-10 minutes)
- Stir well before use

Your wall should be: ✓ Clean and dry ✓ Smooth ✓ Primed (if recommended)
Step 2: Measure, Cut & Apply Paste
Measure and prepare:
- Measure your wall height
- Good news: Our wallpaper is custom printed to your exact measurements - no complex cutting or pattern matching needed!
- Simply unroll your wallpaper and verify dimensions

Apply paste:
- Lay the wallpaper face down on a clean surface
- Apply paste evenly with a brush or roller
- Work from the center outward to the edges
- Make sure edges are well-coated
- "Book" the wallpaper: fold both ends to the center (paste to paste) without creasing
- Let it rest for 5-10 minutes (check manufacturer instructions)

Step 3: Hang & Smooth
Hanging:
- Use a level to draw a light vertical guide line on your wall
- Unfold the top section of your "booked" wallpaper
- Position it at the ceiling, aligning with your guide line
- Leave 2 inches (5 cm) excess at the top for trimming
- Lightly press the top portion to the wall

Smoothing:
- Unfold the bottom section
- Use your smoothing brush to remove air bubbles
- Work from the center outward in a herringbone pattern
- Use firm but gentle strokes
- Wipe away excess paste immediately with a damp sponge

For seams:
- Position the next strip edge-to-edge (butt seam)
- Match the pattern carefully
- Use a seam roller to press seams flat (wait 15 minutes after hanging)
Step 4: Trim & Finish
Trimming:
- Use your smoothing tool as a guide along the ceiling
- Cut excess wallpaper with a sharp utility knife
- Repeat at the baseboard
- Wipe away any paste residue with a damp sponge

Final touches:
- Check all seams and smooth if needed
- Roll seams gently with seam roller if not done already
- Clean all paste from wallpaper surface immediately
- Let dry for 24-48 hours before moving furniture back
